Welcome to our BLACK HISTORY
"History is a clock that people use to tell their time. It is a compass they use to find themselves on the map of human geography. It tells us where they are and what they are."
~ Quote by John Henrik Clarke (historian & author)
We all need to pay more attention to and learn about BLACK HISTORY !!!
There are many lessons from history that can help us to improve our own lives.
We can now see a lot of BLACK HISTORY on TV…shows for and about
AFRICAN-AMERICANS — and OUR-HISTORY....
Check it out when you have time.
PAST - The "Africans (Negroes, Blacks)" were the first humans on the Earth. They moved around the globe long ago....out of the land known as Africa....to India, Asia, and the Americas.
PRESENT - Now we have a new breed of "negroes" who claim to hate the mention of "Kwanzaa" or "Black History Month" --- They pretend, crave, and dream to be other than what they are...wearing blond wigs... and doing anything that makes them appear to be "non-negro."
PAST - We had architects, designers, and draftsmen... who built great, huge structures that even modern architects cannot duplicate.
PRESENT - Now our builders are unemployed and struggling to make ends meet.
PAST - Our people respected & loved the Earth, Nature and environment as part of the sacred universe...and celebrated good harvests.
PRESENT - Now too many ignore the pollution, smog, and toxic waste in our neighborhoods ...and say "so what...if it is wrecking the planet?"
PAST- We had scientists, inventors, scholars, and herbalists who advanced civilizations with amazing creations.
PRESENT - Now Black folks are the least educated, most imprisoned and impoverished, and sickest with AIDS and other diseases.
PAST -- Women were highly respected by all in ancient Kemet and other kingdoms of the MOTHERLAND... and children did not mistreat their parents and elders. In fact, extended families were important where grandparents were included and never left to suffer alone.
PRESENT - Now too many children are ungrateful ....they disrespect their parents, teachers, principals and their elders in awful ways.....and some shoot up the schools.
PAST - You weren't allowed to be men when the WHITE MEN kidnapped you, couldn't wear a belt (lucky to have an old rope) to keep your pants up.
PRESENT -- Now our young men refuse to wear belts & let their pants sag... like the Gays do in prisons.
PAST -- You had good values, honor and dignity in ancient Kingdoms... you women were not treated like pieces of meat forced by sadistic masters to bend over and "shake your money-maker" for their sick pleasure.
PRESENT -- Now young women hoist their behinds in the air & shake them in rap videos and on TV.
PAST -- It was illegal to teach Black folks to read. You weren't allowed to learn to read or go to school.
PRESENT - Now too many of our children 'hate books' and they drop out of schools --- or act like 'gangstas' in those schools.
PAST - You were not allowed to vote or have any of the rights of citizenship.
PRESENT - Now too many refuse to exercise their right to vote won by great sacrifice.
PAST - You 'sistahs' got raped by the 'massa' --- or you were bred like cattle or field animals & not allowed to marry.
PRESENT - Now too many of our men breed like stud horses... BUT think it is cool to have "baby mama drama"....and they don't marry any of their children's mothers.
PAST - Your dedicated abolitionist leaders.. including women took many away from slavery via the 'underground railroad."
PRESENT - Now we have 'Negroes' who would not speak up if a group of renegade White folks were lynching someone outside their fancy office.
PAST- You are descendants of inventors, scholars, athletes, builders, authors, and scientists ...and you have worked hard for many generations to have your own homes & to be independent.
PRESENT - Now far too many have been deprived...made to depend on 'welfare' or low paying jobs -- living in poverty & own next to nothing.
PAST -- We met Jim Crow in the South....and his cousins the Dixiecrats in other places who forced us to live in segregated substandard slums.
PRESENT - Now his cousin is waging 'THE WAR ON DRUGS' (giving out free rooms at privatized prisons) -- BUT some of us can't seem to stay away from the destructive inducement of 'getting high.'
PAST - You have had many dynamic, impressive advocates, organizations, teachers, preachers, orators, politicians, and civil rights warriors to boost your cause for freedom, justice and equality.
PRESENT - Now we have 'Negroes' who don't want to learn a thing (ideas, philosophy, or strategies) about those who fought for our rights.
PAST -- We helped fight for freedom in every war since the days of the Tea Party against the British in the 1700's.
PRESENT - Now we have 'Negroes' who claim to stand for the new 'TEA PARTY' (battling against the first Black President)....that is more like the one in 'Alice in Wonderland.'
PAST -- Black leaders had to fight to get the right to vote...to get elected.... or to participate in Government.
PRESENT - Now we elected the FIRST Black President of the U.S. (fair minded labor leader who wants change) ...AFTER we sat by (quietly suffering) and allowed the White one before him to all but wreck the planet ....and still too many Blacks complain about, ridicule, demean, nitpick, slander, and want to fight against the BLACK MAN....blaming him for not cleaning up FAST ENOUGH the pile of garbage that he inherited from past Presidents...
WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR PEOPLE?
We have been crippled due to lack of knowledge of TRUE HISTORY.

There are so many things that can be done to solve our problems…of unemployment, poverty, pollution, climate change, etc. ….but for some reason our State and Fed. Gov’t. have been holding back.
CLIMATE CHANGE is a very serious threat to everyone. Some big solutions can be done with the stroke of a pen…via the PURCHASES of our Fed. Govt.
** Million$ are spent for the fuel in the jets, helicopters, tanks, jeeps, and other vehicles. HOW ABOUT GOING TO THE GREEN ENERGY and getting off fossil fuels. Pres. Obama already discussed using ALGAE FUELS…and there are other ‘green fuels’…some made from SUGAR CANE. Also, electric vehicles and hybrids can be used…instead of buying more gas-guzzlers.
Install SOLAR PANELS on the Gov’t buildings and the White House…to lower the energy bills. Our Gov’t can begin to reduce the toxic emissions and GO GREEN by spending most of the funds for their vehicles, fuels, supplies, equipment, etc. on that which is non-polluting… or made from recycled materials.
RECYCLING OF TRASH (plastics, bottles, etc.) is another thing that our Gov’t can do …without much effort or redtape.
ALL OF THESE EFFORTS will create more jobs…boost spending with small businesses…and help clean up the toxic waste and pollution that is wrecking our health and our planet.
WHY SHOULD ANYONE STUDY BLACK HISTORY ?
How much do you know about this subject?
Dr. Carter Woodson is the founder of BLACK HISTORY MONTH.
(December 19, 1875 – April 3, 1950)
He went to Congress in 1925 and had it proclaimed an official observance...
first known as "Negro History Week." Dr. Woodson is the author
of may books on the subject of African and African-American History.
He worked to preserve the history of African Americans and accumulated
a collection of thousands of artifacts and publications. He noted that African American
contributions "were overlooked, ignored, and even suppressed by the writers of
history textbooks and the teachers who use them."
THE THREAT OF CLIMATE CHANGE is worse than many
other challenges that we have ever faced, including:
Apartheid, the KKK & Jim Crow Segregation, and political corruption, etc.
BECAUSE WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY THAT HAS BECOME INTEGRATED WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF ETHNIC, RACIAL AND RELIGIOUS GROUPS -- IT HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY IMPORTANT THAT WE ALL DEVELOP A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE VARIOUS ETHNIC GROUPS THAT MAKE UP THIS SOCIETY.
Our ethnicity is part of who we are as individuals and unless you were raised with no sense of cultural heritage, your ethnicity has some impact on how you see the world and how the world sees you. To discount a person's ethnicity in dealing with them on a personal level is to ignore a part of that person's human beingness.
Understanding cultural differences helps us to develop better relationships, to improve communication and to manage business affairs in more effective ways. Each culture has its own style of behaviors--- showing emotions, expressing humor, listening , & learning. We need to begin to understand these cultural differences in order to be more effective educators, managers, and leaders….and to be able to solve human relations conflicts.
Often times, we lack understanding of other cultures and do not know how to work with or build good relationships with those who are different from our own group. The modern phenomena of dealing in a world that consists of a variety of "cultural and ethnic groups" -- is what we refer to when we talk about "cultural diversity."
In far too many cases, the school curriculum is filled with lessons, pictures, and stories about and of the White (Caucasian) people. Blacks, Hispanics, Asians (and other people of color) have traditionally been invisible in most textbooks, teaching aides, films, etc. Studies show that African-Americans (Blacks) and other so-called minority students perform better when they see role models, photos, achievers, leaders, etc. who are just like them. The schools need to present more stories that inspire, encourage and show Blacks (and other minorities) in a positive and successful light. We need classes in African-American History and more emphasis upon Multi-Cultural Studies, which includes presentations of diverse racial and ethnic groups.
Additionally, education should help promote “high self and race esteem.” Students are inspired to learn of positive achievers of their own race…as well as of other groups. When self-esteem is at a high level, people are easy to get along with. They are cheerful, generous, tolerant, and open to new ideas.
TEACHERS, WORKSHOP LEADERS, YOUTH GROUP SUPERVISORS and others who are teaching classes must become more conscious of including a variety of ethnic and racial groups into the learning exercises.
